About
This tour is suitable for anyone who wants to try dog sledding but also learn more about huskies and spend some time with the dogs. As a tour participant, you drive your own dog sled in a more hilly terrain supervised by a guide. It’s good if you have some base fitness so you can help the dogs running up hill. You don’t need any prior experience from dog sledding to complete the tour.
At the kennel, only a short walk from the hotel, your group will be welcomed by your guide, and you’ll be provided with warm clothes, shoes, and gloves. You’ll meet the dogs and receive a detailed explanation of how to drive a dog sled. You’ll also help harness the dogs. Then, you’ll drive the dog sled in pairs – one rides, and one drives. After half the journey, you’ll have the opportunity to switch places. After the tour, we will be welcomed by a cozy fire and snacks at the kennel. Here, you’ll have the chance to spend a bit more time with the dogs.
A winter dream for anyone who wants to try dog sledding and learn more about the exciting life of sled dogs. This tour takes place only a short walk from our hotel – there is no transfer time. We are proud to say that the dogs are very well cared for, following not only the strict animal welfare laws of Sweden, but also the requirements of the ecotourism certification Nature’s Best.
